Why have a blog on comparative effectiveness?

Our feeling is that comparative effectiveness research is taking center stage in the nations healthcare reform. Comparative effectiveness research (CER) provides information on the relative strengths and weakness of various medical interventions. The hope is that comparative effectiveness research will give physicians, clinicians and patients reliable, accurate and valid information to make better and more informed healthcare decisions. Ultimately, this will improve the performance of the U.S. health care system.
